Event Description

A new building at Alcatraz will be opened soon for tours.  The building is the New Industries building where prisoners worked to support the US Military during World War II.  For this to open, the building needs to be cleaned and made ready for tourists.

What we'll be doing

One Brick volunteers will assist in cleaning the windoes of the New Industries Building.

What you should know

The staff boat to Alcatraz will be leaving at 8:45.  Please plan on arriving early so you do not miss the boat.  This boat is free for volunteers.  A short tour of parts of the island will be offered to volunteers as well.  Boats returning to San Francisco leave every half hour.

Wear comfortable clothes and plenty of layers.

Where to meet

Meet at Pier 33.  The volunteer boat will be departing from the dock behind the Cafe at Pier 33, just south of the larger pier.  Please meet at this dock by 8:30 am.
